MASTER DATA SCIENCE IN RUSSIA IN ENGLISH

Russia is investing an enormous amount of budget in higher education to attract more students, researchers and Scientists from abroad. It has also launched a project known as "Russian academic excellence project" to bring several Russian universities in top 100. So, currently Russia is among one of the best education destinations. 

Below is a list of best Master programs in data science to study in RUSSIA.

1: HSE: Master in Data Science
This program is offered by one of the best university in Russia known as "National Researh University: Higher School Of Economics" located in Moscow. It's a 2 year program offered with a medium of instruction in English.
This program includes three specializations:
a: Internet Data Analysis
b: Intellectual Systems and Structural Analysis
c: Technologies of Modelling of Comlex Systems

This is state accredited program. Official program partners include Fachhochschule Technikum Wien, University of Passau and University of Munster and Lancaster University.

HSE has exchange programs with the following universities for big data systems:

•  University of Munster (Germany)
• Seoul National University of Science and                                     Technology (Republic of Korea)
•  Chonnam National University (South Korea)
•  EURECOM (FRANCE)

2: NSU: Master in Big Data Analytics
Offered by the number 3rd (ranked) university in Russia "Novosibirsk State University". It also posses the title of National Research University. Located in Novosibirsk. It's a 2 year program offered in English as medium of instruction.

Big names including IBM. EMC via EMC Academic Alliance are the program partners. 

The following institutes provide internships during the program: Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Scientific-Research Institute of Physiology & Basic Medicine; as well as industry companies: Expasoft, Games Banner Network (GBN), itms.pro, Novel Software Systems Company.

We contacted head of the program Dr. Evgeniy Pavlovskiy and asked them to explain what are the ingredients that make this program an industry ready one? Dr. replied:

" Industry ready program guaranteed by project-oriented tuition. We organized courses in a way of analytics project phases. Firstly we study Business Analysis to make clear business goals. After that we dive into scientific specific - Machine Learning, Operations Research, Theory of Information and Cryptography. The second year is for scaling the capstone project for different domains, so we study Entrepreneurship and Distributive Computing here. All student's scientific advisors are from industry."

3: ITMO: Big Data and extreme computing
ITMO is located in Moscow, the capital of Russia. This university holds the title of being only university to win the coding Olympiad for six times. The language of instruction is English. The length of this program is 2 years with an opportunity to study one semester at University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

4: TSU: Mathematical methods, Data Analysis and Processing in Economics

It's another university with the title of National Research University. It's located in Tomsk, Siberia with a leading population of students. This university also holds 2 Nobel prizes. Program is offered in English. Length of the program is two year.

5: SKOLTECH: Information Science and Technology

This university is running in collaboration with MIT. A great university to study in. For now, there is no tuition fee. It's an unconventional university with opportunity for any individual to grow and flourish.
