MASTER DATA SCIENCE IN RUSSIA IN ENGLISH

 Russia is investing an enormous amount of budget in higher education to attract more students, researchers and Scientists from abroad. It has also launched a project known as "Russian academic excellence project" to bring several Russian universities in top 100. So, currently Russia is among one of the best education destinations. 

 Below is a list of best Master programs in data science to study in RUSSIA.

 1: HSE: Master in Data Science
This program is offered by one of the best university in Russia known as "National Researh University: Higher School Of Economics" located in Moscow. It's a 2 year program offered with a medium of instruction in English.
This program includes three specializations:
a: Internet Data Analysis
b: Intellectual Systems and Structural Analysis
c: Technologies of Modelling of Comlex Systems
This is state accredited program. Official program partners include Fachhochschule Technikum Wien, University of Passau and University of Munster and Lancaster University.

2: NSU: Master in Big Data Analytics
Offered by the number 3rd (ranked) university in Russia "Novosibirsk State University". It also posses the title of National Research University. Located in Novosibirsk. It's a 2 year program offered in English as medium of instruction.
Big names including IBM. EMC via EMC Academic Alliance are the program partners. 

The following institutes provide internships during the program: Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Scientific-Research Institute of Physiology & Basic Medicine; as well as industry companies: Expasoft, Games Banner Network (GBN), itms.pro, Novel Software Systems Company.

We contacted head of the program Dr. Evgeniy Pavlovskiy and asked them to explain what are the ingredients that make this program an industry ready one? Dr. replied:

" Industry ready program guaranteed by project-oriented tuition. We organized courses in a way of analytics project phases. Firstly we study Business Analysis to make clear business goals. After that we dive into scientific specific - Machine Learning, Operations Research, Theory of Information and Cryptography. The second year is for scaling the capstone project for different domains, so we study Entrepreneurship and Distributive Computing here. All student's scientific advisors are from industry."
3: ITMO: Big Data and extreme computing
ITMO is located in Moscow, the capital of Russia. This university holds the title of being only university to win the coding Olympiad for six times. The language of instruction is English. The length of this program is 2 years with an opportunity to study one semester at University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
4: TSU: Mathematical methods, Data Analysis and Processing in Economics

It's another university with the title of National Research University. It's located in Tomsk, Siberia with a leading population of students. This university also holds 2 Nobel prizes. Program is offered in English. Length of the program is two year.


5: SKOLTECH: Information Science and Technology
This university is running in collaboration with MIT. A great university to study in. For now, there is no tuition fee. It's an unconventional university with opportunity for any individual to grow and flourish.

BECOME A GAME DEVELOPER LEARNING FROM MOOCS

DO you want to be a game developer? Do you want to develop games from scratch? Do you want to learn game programming? Do you want to learn game design? Do you want to learn game graphic designing? Than read on....

1: Intro to Game Development | Michigan State University | Coursera

This is a must to take course before you dive into any others and waste your important time. This mooc is for obsolete beginners. This mooc use the famous UNITY gaming engine to develop 2 3d games using c# as a programming language. You are not suppose to have any background in programming but knowledge in programming is helpful. During this four week course you'll learn very much about using unity engine and its different features. Learner will enjoy creating two games and will get acquainted to the world of game development.

2: Game Development for Modern Platforms | Michigan State University | Coursera

I advice you to take this mooc after taking the introductory course from the same University. This mooc takes you into further details and depth. It discloses more about the unity engine and focus on game programing in c# too. The goal for this mooc is to build a 2D platformer game. You'll learn very much from this mooc and one will be able to start creating their own moocs. BUT wait, there is some more before you dive into the gaming business.

3: Introduction to Game Design | MIT | edX

Game design is the core part of creating a complete game. You'll learn about what is it that makes the game fun and interesting? What is the addiction part of the game? How to test the game by user perception? How to do documentation for the game and what are the basics tools of game designing? The goals will be achieved by a simple tool known as "GameBlox".

4: Business of Games and Entrepreneurship | Michigan State University | Coursera

What practices will you follow once you have made the game. There are an enormous amounts of games available, what tactics will you need to stand out of the crowd. How to perform better with your game. This mooc is all about it.


By now you'll be able to become a game developer. Try making one of your own game and publish it on the online market. After that you may apply for a job.

Good news for Indians: Udacity in support with google and TATA is providing financial aid to students from India. They can take the nano-degree for free which also guarantees a job after its completion.


Udacity is eager to conduct its Nanodegree system to Indians with the backing of top Indian and worldwide managers.
