This mooc use the famous UNITY gaming engine to develop 2 3d games using c# as a programming language. You are not suppose to have any background in programming but knowledge in programming is helpful. During this four week course you'll learn very much about using unity engine and its different features. Learner will enjoy creating two games and will get acquainted to the world of game development.

I advice you to take this mooc after taking the introductory course from the same University. This mooc takes you into further details and depth. It discloses more about the unity engine and focus on game programing in c# too. The goal for this mooc is to build a 2D platformer game. You'll learn very much from this mooc and one will be able to start creating their own moocs. BUT wait, there is some more before you dive into the gaming business.
3: Introduction to Game Design | MIT | edX
Game design is the core part of creating a complete game. You'll learn about what is it that makes the game fun and interesting? What is the addiction part of the game? How to test the game by user perception? How to do documentation for the game and what are the basics tools of game designing? The goals will be achieved by a simple tool known as "GameBlox".
4: Business of Games and Entrepreneurship | Michigan State University | Coursera
What practices will you follow once you have made the game. There are an enormous amounts of games available, what tactics will you need to stand out of the crowd. How to perform better with your game. This mooc is all about it.
By now you'll be able to become a game developer. Try making one of your own game and publish it on the online market. After that you may apply for a job.
